This innovation workshop places emphasis on Black Psychology that involves a historical perspective, analyzing and introduces to youth the infamous slave masters, William Lynch’s “Lynch Letter”….The Making of a Slave, which some experts believe is the source of many problems African Americans face today and is the foundation of Black on Black Crime, violence and low self-esteem issues. As such, African American or Black Psychology is historical concept.

The history of African American people in the United States is a journey that includes physical and psychological oppression and travels through specific intergenerational efforts to improve the condition of a race that has faced slavery, poverty, racism, discrimination and basically powerlessness across all sectors of American society. In contrast to these often horrific realties of the African American experience in the U.S., stand many inspiring examples of African Americans that demonstrate significant resiliency and psychological strength that offer hope and possibility within the concept of the so-called “American Dream”. This workshop was created to breed unity among our people and stop the senseless killing and violence that is destroying our families, youth and communities.
